Week commencing the 3rd of April (week 14)  marks the launch of the additional rail service in and out of Hallsberg.

The second MacAndrews own train service into and out of Hallsberg per week will support the increase in export volumes along with providing greater coverage for the Scandinavian rail links onto Helsingborg where a weekly service operates; connecting Scandinavia to Spain, Portugal Poland and the UK.

Through the work of MacAndrews Scandinavia  and our continued co-operation with Green Cargo AB, the idea of a second rail service was conceived to further develop our existing multimodal network.
Green Cargo AB are rooted in the origins of Swedish rail traffic and are Sweden’s most experienced operator in rail logistics.

ScanBaltic Service -Connecting Helsingborg, Gdynia, Tilbury Bilbao weekly. Onward connections to Portugal via Tilbury available)

The train drivers move nearly 400 freight trains per day in Sweden, which corresponds to about 10,000 trucks or a convoy of trucks more than 300-km long.  These Swedish freight wagons travel the circumference of the world 41 times every 24 hours. Since steel wheels roll easily on steel rails, the freight in our electric trains can travel 300 times the distance of road freight for the same level of carbon emissions.
